Video material taken during the observation flight in Lithuania and illegally confiscated from the representatives of the Lithuanian Armed Forces in Sheremetyevo International Airport of Moscow was retrieved to the Defence Attaché of Lithuania in Russia Col. Ceslovas Slegaitis by the officials of the Russian Defence Ministry, May 19.

New Defence Attaché of the United Kingdom will be accredited to Lithuania

May 20, Acting Defence Attaché of the UK to Lithuania Lt. Col. Mike Barker will be accredited at the Ministry of National Defence. He will replace Lt. Col. Lindsay Wilson who has completed his diplomatic service in Lithuania in the beginning of May.
Lt. Col. M. Barker will act as Defence Attaché to Lithuania and Latvia on temporary basis till a new permanent Defence Attaché is appointed simultaneously with accreditation to Finland and Estonia.

US Container & Roll-on/Roll-off ship 2ND LT JOHN P. BOBO visit territorial waters of Lithuania in the Baltic Sea

US Container & Roll-on/Roll-off ship 2ND LT JOHN P. BOBO is visiting the territorial Baltic Sea waters of Lithuania from May 7 to 10.
The ship carries the amount of equipment and combat gear sufficient to sustain a squadron for up to 30 days. Purpose of the ship is providing logistic support for the US Marine Corps from the sea side. The ship is equipped with various mechanisms for loading and unloading cargo as well as for discharging cargo with a crane; the ship also has capabilities for ensuring supply and maintenance in places where no port is present. 2ND LT JOHN P. BOBO has stocks of various gear used by the US Marine Corps and other resources: military equipment, ammunition, food supplies, hospital equipment, petroleum products and repair parts, etc.

May 18, Minister of National Defence Rasa Jukneviciene will take part in the EU Defence Ministers’ meeting in Brussels (Belgium).
Agenda of the meeting EU defence ministers includes session of the Steering Board of the European Defence Agency, session of the EU Defence Ministers on the matters of developing military capabilities and military operations, and joint consultations of Defence and Foreign Affairs Ministers.
