On February 26-27 National Defence Ministry Undersecretary Artur Ploksto will take part in the European Defence Agency (EDA) conference held in Brussels on annual basis.

The conference is organised by EDA in February each year. This year the main attention will be focused on the issues, challenges and opportunities for the logistic supply of the EU led crises management operations.

The main announcements in the conference will be read by the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy and Head of EDA Javier Solana, Chairman of the EU Military Committee Gen. Henri Bentegeat and President of the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe Åke Svensson. The conference will be attended by high-ranking politicians, and representatives of defence ministries, national armed forces and industries of the EU member countries. About 250 guests should attend the conference.

EDA was established on 12 July 2004 in order to support the EU defence capabilities, especially in the sector of crisis response, to enhance cooperation of the EU members in armaments sector, to strengthen industrial and technological foundations of the EU defence and create a competitive European defence equipment market, and to encourage scientific research in order to boost the potential of the European market and technologies in the field of defence.
