Troops on mission in Afghanistan gather for “Dancon” march

Troops of Lithuanian-led Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT-7) took part in the traditional pedestrian military “Dancon” march organised by the Danish Contingent, October 31.
The march was attended by over a hundred soldiers from Lithuania, Denmark, Croatia, the US, and Ukraine. They had to surmount a route of 20 kilometres surrounding the airfield of Chaghcharan, capital of Ghowr. The first to finish the route made it in 2,5 hours though the full time given for marching was 6 hours.

Visit of Russian armament control experts

On October 28-29 four armament control experts from Russia are conducting an assessment visit in the divisions of Lithuanian Armed Forces: MIB Iron Wolf, Staff of Lithuanian Air Force, and Aviation Base in Zokniai. If weather conditions are favourable, part of inspection will be conducted in a LAF helicopter.

Chief of Defence participate in the meeting of the EU Chiefs of Defence in Brussels

Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lt. Gen. Valdas Tutkus will leave for Brussels (Belgium) on October 28 to take part in the meeting of the EU Chiefs of Defence.
In the meeting scheduled to last from October 28 to 29 Chiefs of Defence of the EU armed forces will elect a new Chairman of the EU Military Committee to replace Gen. Henri Bentégeat currently holding the office.
