May 18, Minister of National Defence Rasa Jukneviciene will take part in the EU Defence Ministers meeting in Brussels (Belgium).
Agenda of the meeting EU defence ministers includes session of the Steering Board of the European Defence Agency, session of the EU Defence Ministers on the matters of developing military capabilities and military operations, and joint consultations of Defence and Foreign Affairs Ministers.
Defence Ministries of the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Bulgaria plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on military relations and defence cooperation. The new Memorandum will replace the already existing agreement on cooperation. The Memorandum is designed to bring more clarity to the principles of defence cooperation, its sectors and forms, financial issues, drafting cooperation plans and other aspects, with regard to Lithuanias and Bulgarias membership in the EU and NATO.
The Minister will depart for the meeting on May 17, Sunday.
